A team of researchers working at the Cornell Theory Center is developing software to

visualises increased workflow

LexisNexis Butterworths has acquired Visualfiles for an undisclosed
sum. Visualfiles, which has won the Queen's Award for Innovation, has a team of 150 people
in Leeds and specialises in providing workflow software for conveyancing and personal
injury cases.
Cambridge
snaps up CABI science journals

CABI, the scientific, technical and medical (STM) publisher has sold its journals
division to Cambridge
University Press (CUP).
The London
Book Fair announces Market Focus Country for 2007

The London Book Fair has announced that Spain
will be the Market Focus country for 2007, shining a spotlight for the second year on
the Spanish language, the second most widely-spoken language in the world. Spanish
publishers will exhibit at the Fair with the support of the FGEE (Federación de Gremios
de Editores de España) and the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

Microsoft
hands copyright control over to publishers

Microsoft has moved further into searching copyright material with its Windows
Live Books Publisher Program . Launched in May, the program will be expanded
within the coming weeks to accept submissions in digital form, in addition to the print
material currently being processed.
New Medical Subject
Classification Scheme for EBSCO A-to-Z® Users

The new medical classification scheme broadens the scope of A-to-Z classification
options, enabling hospital and other medical libraries to offer their users a more precise
search for medical and health-related materials. These subject headings are based on a
blend of subject terms from both the National Library of Medicine's List of Journal's
Indexed for MEDLINE and General subject terms.
