by the internet are too significant to be ignored.
Wolters Kluwer Health Partners with Cerner
Wolters Kluwer press release
Wolters Kluwer Health (WKHealth), the industry-leading drug information provider,
announced that it has entered into an agreement with Cerner Corp. to enhance point-of-care
decision support in Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and hospitals. Drug and medical
data from WKHealth's SKOLAR MD and Clin-eguide Order Sets will be integrated into the Cerner
Millennium® clinical knowledge system, called Executable Knowledge®.

Howard Stringer speech: 'Television in the Digital Age'

Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and CEO of the Sony Corporation of
America, gave a speech entitled 'Television in the Digital Age' to the Royal Television
Society on November 18, 2004.
There probably is little fear of contradiction that with 1,200 Wi-Fi sessions per week,
the British Librarys Wi-Fi network is the most popular (and largest) in London: The
library officially launched its Wi-Fi service today through its 11 reading rooms,
conference auditorium, cafe, restaurant, and outdoor area. The Cloud is operating the
service, providing pay-as-you-go service and allowing roaming with its many partners.
The library has 3,000 visitors per day, and a survey they conducted found 86 percent of
them were laptop owners; many left the library to find nearby Internet access. The library
expects its service will be even more popular than the current 1,200 sessions per week
with this formal announcement.
Blinkx
fills Smart Folders with search results

Blinkx has released an improved version of its search software that now creates special
folders in users' PCs about specific topics and automatically populates them with
documents grabbed from users' hard drives and from the Internet. The
feature, called Smart Folders, is the highlight of Blinkx 2.0, the newest version of this
Internet and desktop search tool, which is available as a free download from the start-up
company's Web site at www.blinkx.com
The American Institute of Physics announced today that it will offer on a trial basis
an open-access publishing option to authors contributing to three AIP journals: Journal
of Mathematical Physics, Review of Scientific Instruments, and Chaos: An
Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science. The initiative has been named Author

Companies are rapidly adopting Microsoft's email authentication
standard, a new study shows. A Ciphertrust survey of 10 million emails
detailed a 75 percent increase in Sender ID uptake in the last three
months.

Sans Frontières receives top honour

Dr. Rowan Gillies, President of the Médecins Sans Frontières International Council,
accepted the King Hussein Humanitarian Leadership Prize in Amman, Jordan. In the
acceptance speech, MSF President Rowan Gillies gratefully accepted the award and
spoke out on the scope and need of humanitarian work:

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is closing its mission in Iraq. The international
humanitarian organisation took the decision in view of the extreme risks currently run by
aid workers in the country. Given the still considerable humanitarian and medical needs of
the Iraqi people, the decision was reached with a great degree of regret and sadness.
