Smoking
to be banned in Irish pubs

The Irish Government is to ban smoking in all pubs and restaurants. It comes as a
report by the Office of Tobacco Control and the Health and Safety Authority highlighted
the ill-effects of passive smoking.
Reuters shares drop

Shares in Reuters, the news and information group fell by more than 5 per cent after
analysts cut their 2003 profit forecast. Reuters is expected to cut costs and reduce jobs.

Upgrade for NHS electronic network
10 Downing Street Newsroom, 16th January
Over £45 million will be spent to upgrade NHSnet - which is used
to connect thousands of health service organisations. Improvements include letting GPs
book appointments for patients online.

Web Trader service, which monitors the standards of more than 2,300 internet retailers.

Science to acquire Holtzbrinck's STM business
